Last Saturday the Department of Immigration and Border Protections’ lowered the English test requirement on the 485 and 476 visas.

While the test scores have been slightly lowered there are some signficant changes to the process.
- These tests must have been undertaken within three years before the application was made.
- The Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) test must be undertaken on or after January 1 2015.
- For the IELTS, PTE (Academic), CAE and TOEFL iBT tests results must have been completed as a result of single test sitting.
- If you hold a passport from the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland or New Zealand, you are exempted from this requirement.
