Israel added to Work and Holiday visa arrangement

Israel has been added to Australia’s reciprocal Work and Holiday visa arrangement, after being announced by the Immigration Department on October 22.

The visa programme will allow up to 500 young people from each country to engage in short-term work and study whilst holidaying in each other’s country, as has already been countries such as Poland and Spain.

The agreement differs from a traditional Working Holiday visa, as it requires applicants to have the support of their government, hold or be studying towards tertiary qualifications, and to speak functional English.

A commencement date for the visa is yet to be decided by the two countries.
