While Mr Glazbrook is hopeful for a positive outcome, he said it should not have come to this.
“At the moment, there is a real gap in terms of the Australian migration program, in terms of overseas carers being able to live and work here and provide care to Australians,” Mr Glazbrook said.
“There are multiple cases a year where people would significantly benefit from Australia having a temporary carer’s visa.”
