MRT announces new online lodgement service

The Migration Review Tribunal and Refugee Review Tribunal have announced that they will start accepting online lodgements from applicants that wish to appeal a decision refusal made by the Immigration Department from January 31.

In order to utilise the online service, applicants will require:

  • Notification of a decision by the Department.
  • A Visa or MasterCard if an application fee is payable.
  • A valid email address.

The MRT says that any application lodged on the last day of a time limit from within Australia must be done so prior to midnight local time, or prior to midnight Australian Capital Territory local time if lodged from outside of Australia.

Applicants are also reminded that should they choose to proceed with an online lodgement; all associated fees must also be paid online.

For applicants that are unable or do not want to submit an application online, traditional methods of lodgement such as by post, fax or in person is still accepted.

Anyone who has any questions about the MRT is encouraged to contact Migration Solutions for further information.
