With so many people criticising the Australian migration programme and skilled migrants, we decided to go to Renmark to speak with Phuong, manager of Tran Cao Nursery and her employee Ravi from India about the importance of the migration program in regional South Australia.
Ravi came to Australia on an international student visa and was soon employed and later sponsored by Phuong for an RSMS visa as a Nursery Person. Ravi has become essential to the business and one of the reasons for the success and diversity of the nursery.
The Department of Immigration has now removed Nursery Person from the 457 Skilled Occupation List and could also remove it from the RSMS list.
This will have a huge effect and negative impact on businesses like Phuong’s and others in regional SA.
