Department lifts lid on scam website

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection has issued a warning to visa applicants to avoid fraudulent website work4australia.com, which claims to provide genuine migration services to Australia.

The scam purportedly offers a five-year eVisa for a cost of USD$4700, and requires applicants to travel to Thailand before a representative from the organisation hands over various documents that will allow entry into Australia.

The Department has stated that they have not authorised any such services in an official media release.

“We have not entered into any agreements with migration agencies to provide such services to clients seeking to migrate to Australia. Protect yourself by using a registered migration agent,” it says.
